Bitcoin and USDC on Cash App: Steps and Fees, Dated
Cash App supports bitcoin and, since a phased 2026 rollout, USDC. Bitcoin sends run on-chain or over Lightning with tiered buy fees from 2.0 percent to zero. USDC moves on four chains with no send fee, converting 1 to 1 from dollars. New York customers are excluded from stablecoins. All facts dated 11 September 2026.
What this page is
This page states how one platform handles crypto, from the vendor’s own help documentation. It is one of six platform pages sharing one shape. Each page answers the same questions for its platform. None reviews the platform or recommends it.
Cash App is the stablecoin arrival of the six. Its USDC feature is new, launched in a phased rollout beginning 27 May 2026 per secondary reporting, read in full [5]. The vendor’s own help doc governs what the feature does today [2]. The distinction between those two sentences is the distinction between news and documentation, and this page keeps it.

Sending bitcoin, by the vendor’s steps
The vendor’s help doc gives the flow, captured 11 September 2026 [1].
- Tap the Money tab.
- Tap the Bitcoin tile.
- Tap the arrows button.
- Choose Send Bitcoin.
- Enter the amount and the recipient address or Lightning invoice.
- Tap Next.
- Select a speed, on-chain sends only.
- Confirm the payment.
Lightning runs from the QR icon instead, scanning or pasting an invoice [1]. One retired flow deserves its date. Bitcoin sending between cashtags ended 20 December 2024, in the vendor’s own words [1].
Sending USDC, by the vendor’s steps
Deposit and send are mirror flows [2]. To send: open the payments tab, enter at least one dollar, pay, paste the wallet address, send. To deposit: open the Money tab, choose deposit stablecoins, select the network, share the address or QR code.
The model is unusual and worth stating exactly. There is no separate stablecoin balance. Received stablecoins convert instantly to dollars. Sends convert dollars back, one to one [2].

Caveats and availability
The vendor’s warnings are quoted, not paraphrased. Sending stablecoins on an unsupported network results in permanent loss of funds [2]. Identity verification is required for both bitcoin and stablecoins [1] [2]. Stablecoins are not available in New York, and sponsored accounts are excluded [2]. Lightning excludes New York customers too [1].
Limits, dated. Stablecoin sending caps at 2,000 dollars per day and 5,000 per week. Receiving caps at 10,000 per week [2]. The venue’s own card, which spends the dollar balance at merchants, is a separate product with its own limits [4].
Where this page sits
The spend hub frames the cluster. The methods page walks the six spending rails. The PayPal page holds the contrast case, a platform whose stablecoin lane is its own token. The off-ramps page holds the exit legs. Every figure above carries its capture date.
Frequently asked questions
How does bitcoin work on Cash App?
You can buy, sell, hold, send, and receive bitcoin there, per the vendor's help docs. Sends run on the Bitcoin Network or Lightning. Buying costs a tiered fee from 2.0 percent on small amounts to zero above 2,000 dollars, and a spread of up to 0.75 percent applies to the conversion rate. Every figure is dated on this page.
How do I use USDC on Cash App?
Cash App added USDC in a phased rollout that began 27 May 2026, per secondary reporting, with the vendor's help doc governing the feature. There is no separate stablecoin balance. Dollars convert 1 to 1 into USDC at send time, on Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, or Arbitrum. New York customers are excluded, dated.
How do I send USDC to someone?
Through the payments tab. Enter an amount of one dollar or more, pay, paste the recipient's wallet address, and send, per the vendor's steps captured 11 September 2026. Sending and receiving stablecoins carries no fee on this venue. Sending on an unsupported network loses the funds, in the vendor's own words.
Which network should I use for sending USDC?
This page does not rank networks. Cash App supports four: Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum. The only rule the vendor states is that sender and recipient must be on the same network, and an unsupported network means permanent loss. Network cost comparisons live on the chains pages.
How do I spend stablecoins on Cash App?
The stablecoin feature is a send and receive rail, not a merchant rail, per the captured help doc. Spending happens after conversion back to your dollar balance, which is automatic on receipt. The spending rails themselves are the subject of the methods page.
